Light at the end of the tunnel…

Friday, June 24th, 2011

The maze of cardboard, packing paper and various miscellaneous bits of …stuff are growing more sparse with each passing day. Yes, it would seem that ‘the move’ is finally behind me. Now I get to tackle the next substantial item on my agenda – getting the ids registered for their new schools. I’m hoping it will be relatively painless, but I know better. Alas, it is a very necessary process. I cannot imagine having them home with me all the time – I sincerely admire those that home school. I do not have the patience. Me attempting homeschooling = very bad things.

Once the whole non-homeschooling thing is handled I might actually have some fun.

Yes, that’s right – it’s that wonderful time of year when the words Conference, RWA, and Nationals arebouncing around like little giddy bubbles in champagne glasses. I’m going to savor each and every bubble. AND I will be blogging about my adventures in New York. So, all of you that wish you were able to go, I will do my very best to post the hightlights and a pic or two along the way.

Now, back to champagne bubble-less duties… Happy Friday all!

Weekend Happenings…

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

Friday night my husband and I had a date. We ventured to the movie theater (i know, a shock!) and watched True Grit and Season of the Witch. True Grit was okay – very one dimensional with an ending that left you wanting something more satisfying. We will not discuss Season of the Witch… :(

Saturday meant DARA time! I love this group of ladies and the motivation these meetings provide. This weeked was interesting – Corinne Kenner  came to talk to us about using Tarot cards for story development. It was a FUN meeting. I can see how they might be useful when you’re stumped. But, generally, I know what my story is going’s journey will be before I sit down.

And then I found out I finaled in the GOTCHA competition, offered through Silicon Valley RWA. I’m totally giddy about this! I entered this story for feedback – :) I have to say I’m pretty pleased with the results.

Finally, I finished another Julia Quinn novel – ‘The Secret Diaries of Miranda Cheever’  And I LOVE Julia Quinn! She makes me happy in a warm-fuzzy kind of way. Thank you for that Julia!
