Weekend Recap – Book Signing Pics & TV Spot

And the Book Signing for the San Antonio Romance Authors was Saturday. The weather was icky, but THANK YOU to those that braved the slick roads and drizzle to come see us! It was loads of fun! Here I am, being author-ly – LOL!

I’m already looking forward to my next trip out! I’m speaking at the Dallas Area Romance Authors group in March – in case you’re in the neighborhood. March is a BIG month – DARA, Book Lovers Weekend, then Dreamin’ In Dallas! Can’t wait!!!

This weekend was busy so I didn’t get in the reading I wanted. I’m finishing Elizabeth Boyle’s Love Letters From a Duke and then moving on to Melanie Macek’s new release When Love Waits.

Happy Book Birthday HOLLYWOOD HOLIDAY!

This week has been pretty monumental for me. I went from being author of two books to FOUR books!!! Yep = BIG week.

Today I get to introduce you to my fourth book baby, a contemporary Hollywood romance that I loved writing….

Week #1 – Hollywood Ever Review Tour

Nothing to make an author more nauseated that taking her book on tour. And not just a book tour – but a review tour. I mean, just because someone is willing to read and review your book does NOT guarantee they’ll like it.

Still, I’ve sent Josh and Claire into the hands of some pretty cool book reviewers. I’m going to be optimistic *gulp* Talk about a way to kick off MONDAY! Right? *ahem*

 I admit - I was on a mother-whirlwind of child-related activities. But I did have some time to finish Seducing Avery by Barb Han (BRAVO on the amazing debut novel Barb!), Highland Healer (Another WOW of a Debut by Willa Blair) and I’ve begun The Shattered Dark by Sandy Williams… So I guess I did get some reading done.

The next few months are going to be crazy busy. I have three books babies coming out in December and January. But to welcome these book babies into the world, I’m throwing them ‘parties’…

First things first – the book signing was terrific. Nothing like seeing old friends and making new ones to reaffirm that, maybe, you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing.

Book Signing & Book Birthday Preparations!

Tomorrow is a BIG DAY!

1. Hollywood Ever After releases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn’t it pretty?

I cannot wait to hear what readers have to say. :)

2. I have a book signing for both my books. Which means I’m super EXCITED… and totally nauseous.

Here’s the thing. Book signings are a wonderful way to meet readers and ‘sell’ your book. There is nothing cooler than having people eagerly snatch up your book, want your autograph, and promptly purchase it. I mean, it’s your book. The book you wrote, went sleepless over, had dreams over, ‘bled’ over – or almost, at times. And now, it’s here for other’s to read and enjoy. Yay! Right?

But… (doubt demons arriving) What if no one comes? What is no one wants your book? What if someone has read your book and was so frustrated by it that they hunt you down to confront you at your book signing? (Okay, I have an overly developed imagination, but I am a writer after all.) Basically, what if the signing is a bust?

There’s no way of knowing.

What I do know? Tomorrow I’m CELEBRATING the release of my second book (that is so awesome to say!)!!!

And I’m having a book signing! And while I’m grounded enough to know that there will not be a line around Barnes and Noble, I do hope that a few folks (not related to me!!) will show up. :)

Greek Mythology Blog Challenge: E is for…

Moving along in my super abbreviated Greek Mythology 101 :) …

Because she is near and dear to my heart, I’m going to mention Euryale for E. One of Medusa’s Gorgon sisters, Euryale was everything dreadful that Medusa eventually became. The Gorgons, Euryale and Stheno, were rumored to be almost gargoyle like: tusks, bronze claws, snake hair, and having foul tempers.

 

I have to say, I’d be rather foul tempered if I was saddled with such looks.

But part of one myth reveals that these sisters were fiercely devoted to one another. When Medusa was killed, the sisters began to moan and cry so loudly that all could hear their grief and even the Gods were struck by their suffering.

 

**I have news… :) Hollywood Ever After is almost here! I KNOW! My spicy contemporary romance releases THIS Saturday: July 14th. Happy Birthday to ME – Giveaway!!!

This year I’m celebrating big time. YAY!!!

I had a fantastic book signing at a Real Bookstore in Fairview with a wonderful group of fellow North Texas writers AND hugged some friends I’ve dearly missed since relocating.

This afternoon I’m attending Fresh Fiction’s Boas and Tiaras tea party! Talk about a fun weekend.

I will post pics next week – maybe… We’ll see how they turn out – LOL!

And it made me realize how much has changed since my last birthday. Now town, new house… new profession. This is my first birthday as an author. And I want to share the party vibe with you. So - it’s Giveaway time!
