Tuesday Talent – SHAWNA ROMKEY

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

Shawna Romkey is in the house… er, the blog. :) I admit, she’s super cool – she’s a mom, and an author, and a world traveler too (she’s been to GREECE!!!). And today I get to talk to her about… her…

Thank you for visiting today, Shawna! Let’s jump in and get to know more about you.

What was the first book you read that grabbed you? What genre? Who is the author?

S.R: I’ve always loved books. Probably A Wrinkle in Time by Madelein L’Engle when I was in elementary school. I was always crazy about books. The elementary library called me her Greek mythologist because each week I’d come in asking for anything new Greek myth books.

Is there an author that you get fan-girl crazy over? Have you ever met him/her? Do you want to?

S.R: I like a lot of classic writers, so I’d say if any of them are still alive, but I don’t think a lot are anymore. George RR Martin is my favorite can’t wait for the next book author at the moment. But I’d probably be excited to see Anne Rice, who I called at her house once when I was vacationing in New Orleans to see if she wanted to go out for dinner or something. She didn’t answer, but yes, her number was listed in the phone book back then. Marion Zimmer Bradley.

What’s your:

  • Favorite color? green
  • Favorite season? fall
  • Favorite Hero – movie or book? Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones
  • Snack weakness (food or drink)? Chocolate, sweets, any and every kind
  • What’s your Astrological sign?  scorpio
  • Do you write sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Sweet and cuddly.
  • Do you read sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? I read everything but mainly sweet and cuddly or dark and creepy.

What’s on your desk when you write?

I write in bed with my lap top, so blankets and sometimes a dog.

Do you write to music or quiet? If you do write with music, can you share one song that’s significantly impacted this story?

I usually write with quiet unless I need inspiration, like I’m writing a party scene and I want the mood of the scene or a violent fight scene then I might listen to something heavy. Generally I do best without distraction.

What’s your favorite line from your most recent release? Why?

“Sometimes the child is the guardian.” It might be a spoiler but I had fun trying to explain the paranormal and the existence of angels, so when I wrote it, it was an Ah ha! Moment for me.

What’s next? You don’t have to get specifics – but feel free to leave a tantalizing snippet or cryptic hook.

I’m working on book two of The Speak of the Devil series. It’s in the final stages where I’m prepping it for submission. It’s the planned middle book in the trilogy, and in this one the demons strike back!

Working Blurb:

Lily is now working with the angels to stifle the last of the demon outbreaks and to figure out how to stop the Silence of God, so life can get back to boring normality. But all hell breaks loose when she’s stolen from school and brought face to face with the devil himself. Lily has to find her way back home and to Luc, crack the prophecy that breaks the curse silencing God, and figure out how she and Luc can ever really be together; but Lucifer has other plans for her that don’t include her ever getting out of Hell in tact.

Who is your favorite character from Greek Mythology OR which Olympian would you want to be? And why?

I’m a huge fan of the Amazons, so I’d have to go with Artemis, the huntress. I love women who kick ass.

Tuesday Talent – JODY A. KESSLER

Tuesday, March 12th, 2013

I have another new author visiting with us today! Jody A. Kessler’s debut novel, Death Lies Between Us, just came out through Crescent Moon Press. Check out the cover and blurb below…

Saving the life of someone you love should not be the worst thing you have ever done, unless you are an Angel of Death.

Disgruntled with his position in the afterlife and conflicted by his feelings toward his new client, Nathaniel Evans forgoes the rules and saves nineteen year old Juliana Crowson from being hopelessly stuck in Forge Creek. This alters Juliana’s destiny and she finds herself in a series of near death accidents.

In the mountains of Colorado, Nathaniel comforts Juliana as she struggles to understand her paranormal abilities while coping with her brother’s drug addiction. When an ill-tempered Native American Shaman teaches her the difference between ghosts and place memories, she decides she wants nothing to do with the supernatural world. Too bad she doesn’t know that Nathaniel is part of it.

Will fate bring these two together, or has Nathaniel made the biggest mistake of his afterlife?

Sounds cool, huh? Jumping into the interview…

Me: What was the first book you read that grabbed you? What genre? Who is the author?

JAK: It has to be Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. It’s been so long ago that I don’t remember exactly how young I was – early teens? To this day, I still love the book.

Me: Is there an author that you get fan-girl crazy over? Have you ever met him/her? Do you want to?

JAK: It would be so fun to meet Diana Gabaldon, author of the Outlander series. I’m a huge fan of her writing. She is active on on-line social sites and I follow her posts. I can’t help myself. I’m mildly obsessed with many of her characters.

 What’s your:

  • Favorite color?  Purple – and the darker the better.
  • Favorite season? Spring – New life after the freezing winter — I love it. The bright green of new leaves and the unpredictable weather! Spring has always been my favorite.
  • Favorite Hero – movie or book? Eric Draven from the comic book, The Crow. Resurrected and being guided by a crow to avenge his girlfriend’s brutal death. This has been a long time favorite of mine.
  • Snack weakness (food or drink)? I have too many to list, but right now, really good coffee is at the top of the list. And I am very particular about the flavor and how it is prepared.
  • What’s your Astrological sign? Pisces — absolutely a water girl.

Me: What’s on your desk when you write?

JAK: A huge mess, including, notebooks full of my notes and other writings. A pile of pens — we don’t get along well. They’re always drying up, or stop working as soon as I need one, and usually my Ereader and other books. A raven finger puppet also keeps me company as does a picture of the ocean.

Me: Do you write to music or quiet? If you do write with music, can you share one song that’s significantly impacted this story?

JAK: Music is one thing I have been passionate about for my entire life. Sometimes I listen while I write, but sometimes the music is too distracting. I have a bunch of playlists in my computer, so I can’t narrow down one song. I can tell you that over the last couple of years, I’ve been listening to a lot of The National, The Twilight Sad, and Beach House while I work on my An Angel Falls series. All three bands are indie alternative and atmospheric, and my favorite.

Me: What’s your favorite line from your most recent release? Why?

JAK: “Since I’ve met her, I feel as if I am spinning on an endless carnival ride going around and around with Juliana as the center hub.”

I think this line captures my main character, Nathaniel’s, difficulty controlling his actions when Juliana is around. But everything he does centers around his love for her, and her safety.

Me: What’s next? You don’t have to get specifics – but feel free to leave a tantalizing snippet or cryptic hook.

JAK: Keeping my fingers crossed that I will be offered a contract for book two in the An Angel Falls series. It’s a continuation from where Death Lies Between Us leaves off. My main character’s relationship is still sweet and fresh, but they quickly become entangled in a supernatural mess of possession, demons, and warlocks. My shaman character, Chris, has an awesome roll doing what he does best… I don’t want to give anything away at this point. But I will tell you, the second book is packed with action, heartbreak, and, of course, Angels.

Me: Who is your favorite character from Greek Mythology OR which Olympian would you want to be? And why?

JAK: Definitely Athena. She is the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, justice, mathematics, strength, the arts (like writing), crafts, and skill. And she has an owl. I relate to Athena well.

For the Love of Hades – COVER REVEAL

Monday, December 17th, 2012

I’m completely thrilled with the cover for January’s release:

For the Love of Hades

The Loves of Olympus Series ~ Book 2

Hades, God of Death, has no heart. Persephone is determined to prove otherwise…

Meeting Persephone sways his focus, her gentle sweetness threatening his control. But he will not be tempted.

Poseidon’s scheming wreaks havoc upon Persephone. Hades has no choice – he must rescue her.

Hades awakens something within the Goddess Persephone. She feels no fear from his brooding presence. In truth, she’s never felt so alive. Every stolen moment together only confirms her instinct: he is meant to be hers. Tuesday Talent – Cindy Young-Turner

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

It’s Tuesday which means I have the chance to introduce you to a lovely author. She’s been here before, rather, her character Sydney has visited. Sydney and Poseidon dueled it out in our character interviews. I’m happy to say that Cindy and I have none of the confrontational tendencies that our characters have. Or do we? ;)

Thanks so much for being here Cindy!

ME: What was the first book you read that grabbed you? What genre? Who is the author?

C. Y-T:The very first book? That would have to be Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. I loved it so much and read it so many times my parents actually took it away for a while so I would read other things. The ending still makes me cry. It’s no wonder I love bittersweet endings to this day.

ME: Is there an author that you get fan-girl crazy over? Have you ever met him/her? Do you want to?

C.Y-T: Tough choice. I don’t get that excited over authors, at least ones that are still alive. J I did get to see Neil Gaiman do a reading at the National Book Festival a couple years back. That was really cool. I didn’t have the stamina to wait in the massively long line for his book signing, though.

ME: What’s your:

  • Favorite color? Purple
  • Favorite season? Autumn
  • Favorite Hero – movie or book? Book: Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series, Movie: Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn from Lord of the Rings (hmm, a men with swords theme)
  • Snack weakness (food or drink)? Chocolate, any kind
  • What’s your Astrological sign?  Leo, but I’m totally not like a Leo
  • Do you write sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Sweet and cuddly
  • Do you read sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Both, depending on my mood

*I whole-heartedly approve your hero choices Cindy! Yum! And double yum!*

ME: What’s on your desk when you write?

C.Y-T: I’m lucky if I have some clear space on my desk! Once upon a time I used to be really neat and organized… I have lots of odds and ends, some stuffed lizards, an Edgar Allan Poe finger puppet, and a D&D figurine that helped inspire my story, because I’m geeky like that.

ME: Do you write to music or quiet? If you do write with music, can you share one song that’s significantly impacted this story?

C.Y-T: I usually write to music. It helps me focus and gets me in the mood. When I was writing Thief of Hope, I listened to a lot of New Model Army. My favorite is a song called “The Charge.”

ME: What’s your favorite line from your most recent release? Why?

C.Y-T: It’s so hard to pick just one! Today I’ll choose this one: “They had both built emotional walls to protect themselves, and she wasn’t sure either of them would ever be willing to take the walls down.” I think it sums up just one of the challenges in Sydney’s relationship with Willem.

ME: What’s next? You don’t have to get specifics – but feel free to leave a tantalizing snippet or cryptic hook.

C.Y-T: I just finished up a novella for Crescent Moon Press’ Little Moons line. It’s called Journey to Hope and it’s a prequel to Thief of Hope. It’s a story about Edgar, who is one of my favorite characters in the novel but you really don’t know a lot about him. I’m also working on book two, Thief of Destiny, which is coming along well so far and throws Sydney and Willem into new situations that raise the stakes for the whole kingdom.

ME: Who is your favorite character from Greek Mythology OR which Olympian would you want to be? And why?

C.Y-T: I always loved Persephone. I had a book of mythology when I was a kid and hers was the most interesting story. I’m not sure I’d want to be an Olympian, though. Too much drama!

Tuesday Talent – SHANNON ECKRICH

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

It’s Tuesday – which means I have another fabulous author to share with you. You’re super excited now, aren’t you? Well, you should be. Today is the very sweet Shannon Eckrich. I’m so happy to have her – her book is up next on my TBR list. Perfect timing! Hope you made it through the storm okay, Shannon. Scary stuff. I really appreciate you taking the time to be here…

Diving into the interview, now.

ME: What was the first book you read that grabbed you? What genre? Who is the author?

S.E: This is a hard question since I grew up surrounded by books. Before I started school, I loved the Disney Books that came with the cassette tape. My mom told me she thought I was actually reading one of the books one day, but it turned out I just memorized the tape.

In middle school, I was really hooked by The Baby-sitters Club series by Ann M. Martin and the Sweet Valley Twins series by Francine Pascal. The characters in both series were in my age group, so I could really relate to their problems.

As I grew older, I fell into Stephen King novels and nonfiction books about ghosts and other paranormal stuff. But, Stephen King’s IT seriously scared the crap out of me. Even to this day I freak out around storm drains. I always think I’m going to see some crazy clown staring up at me.

I read Misery at Church camp and couldn’t sleep the entire time I was there. Pet Cemetary – scarred me for life. :)

ME: Is there an author that you get fan-girl crazy over? Have you ever met him/her? Do you want to?

S.E: I really like Angie Sage, author of the Septimus Heap series, but I don’t really go fan-girl crazy over her. I do get a little excited when a new book is released from her series. I have never met her, but I would love too.

ME: What’s your:

  • Favorite color? Hot Pink
  • Favorite season? It’s a toss-up between spring and fall.
  • Favorite Hero – movie or book? I don’t really have a favorite hero, but my favorite movie is What Dreams May Come. I think I cried throughout the entire movie.
  • Snack weakness (food or drink)? Sour Patch Kids, beef jerky, and Pepsi.
  • What’s your Astrological sign?  Virgo
  • Do you write sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Sweet and cuddly with just a touch of steaminess. :)
  • Do you read sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? I like to read both.

ME: What’s on your desk when you write?

S.E: I never write at a desk. Normally, I have my laptop in my lap while sitting in the recliner or in my bed. Of course, my chocolate lab, Chewy, is always squeezed up next to me.

ME: Do you write to music or quiet? If you do write with music, can you share one song that’s significantly impacted this story?

S.E: I usually write my first drafts with music, but in my final draft, I need silence in order to visualize the scenes. One song that has significantly impacted Other Side of Forever is You And Me by Lifehouse. I wrote a majority of Ethan and Allie’s love scenes while listening to that song. And it’s funny because every time I hear it on the radio I think about Ethan and Allie.

ME: What’s your favorite line from your most recent release? Why?

S.E: Hmm… that’s a hard question. I don’t really have a favorite line, but I do have a favorite scene.

Ethan brought his hands up, intertwining his fingers into mine. The warmth of our bodies connecting turned into a scorching heat, a burning desire that I didn’t understand.

He lifted his head, searching for my eyes. Once he found them, he locked on, refusing to blink as he drew me in. In an instant, it reminded me of the night we met. The way he’d seemed to peer into the depth of my soul. Except I wasn’t confused this time. Instead of fighting, instead of pushing him away like I did that night, I surrendered.

This is my favorite scene because ever since Allie was a child she swore she would never fall in love. But now she’s faced with this overpowering emotion that she’s been fighting against for years. She’s confused. She’s scared. And she can’t resist it any longer.

ME: What’s next? You don’t have to get specifics – but feel free to leave a tantalizing snippet or cryptic hook.

S.E: I just finished writing a novel that’s a little on the darker side. It’s still YA paranormal romance, but has ghosts, monsters, and a deranged cult leader. Think Stephen King meets Nicholas Sparks kind of story. It’s scary but romantic.

ME: Who is your favorite character from Greek Mythology OR which Olympian would you want to be? And why?

S.E: My favorite character is Aphrodite, the goddess of love.  I love her the most because she represents affection and the attraction that binds people together, the kind of stories I like to write about.

Thanks again for being here Shannon!!! Stay safe and dry – :) Sasha

Seventeen-year-old Allie Anderson’s telekinetic powers are anything but useful–she can’t bring her father back, can’t stop her mother’s downward spiral into alcohol, and can’t keep her from falling in love with Ethan Bradley. Loving Ethan is easy, but it comes with a hefty price: Ethan is prohibited by his people from interacting with mortals–because he isn’t mortal himself.

When Allie and Ethan’s love is discovered, there’s someone who will do anything to keep them apart. If Allie can’t learn to control her powers and fight to save Ethan, this dark entity will make every attempt to stop her beating heart. And if that happens, not even the energy of an immortal can bring her back.

Ethan rushed out of the trees and raced over. He kneeled down beside me, his expression matching the feeling that throbbed through my leg. “Are you okay, Allie?” he asked. His breathing remained steady, even though I knew he had been running through the woods. How weird. But I was in too much agony and too confused about what happened only minutes ago to ask him about it.

“My ankle,” I said.

He lifted his gaze from my face to stare at my hands. He pushed my hands away and replaced them with his. The warmth zipping through my ankle began to numb the pain.

“Where did you come from?” I asked, watching his hands in disbelief.

“I live on the other side of the woods,” he answered, shooting me a sideways glance before focusing back on my injury.

“How convenient for me that Ethan Bradley lives on the other side of the woods.” The memory of our argument the night before flashed back into my mind.

“Apparently it’s very convenient.” He pressed his lips together. “If not, you would be stuck out here in the middle of nowhere without a way to get home.”

The heat from his hands intensified, and I was no longer able to speak. A tingling sensation snaked its way into my ankle and slithered up my body. His energy completely relaxed me. And then, all traces of pain were gone. It was if I had never been injured at all.

“How…how did you do that?”

He looked over at me, his dark eyes drowning in hesitation. I thought he was going to tell me the truth this time, but I was wrong.

Spotlight Talent – Lynn Rush!!!

Tuesday, October 16th, 2012

I’m SOOOO happy to have Lynn back on the blog. I heart her – really people. Not only is she a ridiculously prolific and gifted wordsmith, she’s a force of positive energy. Which puts her way at the top of the ‘Coolest People I Know’ list. And she’s back to talk about her latest release… Violet Midnight. Doesn’t that title ROCK!?!?

Thanks for being here Lynn. You know the drill, commencing interview NOW…

Me: What was the first book you read that grabbed you? What genre? Who is the author?

L.R: This Present Darkness, by Frank Paretti. Speculative Fiction was the genre, but I just fell in LOVE with how he wrote demons!!  :)

Me: Is  there an author that you get fan-girl crazy over? Have you ever met him/her? Do you want to?

L.R: Fan-girl? I’d say Vicki Pettersson, Gena Showalter or Kresley Cole.  :)  I’d like to meet Vicki most of all. She was very influential in my early years.  :)

What’s your:

  • Favorite color? Green
  • Favorite season?  Spring
  • Favorite Hero – movie or book? Superman
  • Snack weakness (food or drink)? Chocolate! I’m a junkie!
  • What’s your Astrological sign? Ummm…November 28th. That’s Sagittarius, right?
  • Do you write sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? In between.  **LOL** I write New Adult, which is a little more steamy than the sweet YA novels, but not quite as steamy as adult novels. :)
  • Do you read sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Yes. :)

Me: What’s on your desk when you write?

L.R: A picture of Lynn, my mother in law (my pen name was chosen after her!), bottle of water, notebook & pen, and…my computer!  :)

Me: Do you write to music or quiet? If you do write with music, can you share one song that’s significantly impacted this story?

L.R: Music. For sure have to have music. Skillet is my key group. Hero, Awake & Alive, Monster are some of my favorites. Also P!nk and RED. The heavier the better, especially during the fight scenes.  :)

Me: What’s your favorite line from your most recent release? Why?

L.R: A favorite line? Oh gosh. Probably this one:

Tonight, of all nights, when she’d finally decided to relax and have a little fun. It was like she had a close, personal relationship with Murphy’s Law or something.

It’s from my newest release, Violet Midnight, which released October 15th. I like that line because it’s true when it comes to Emma. She never lets her guard down. Ever. And when she did for a second, bam, trouble hits. :)

Me: What’s next? You don’t have to get specifics – but feel free to leave a tantalizing snippet or cryptic hook.

L.R: Book one of a different trilogy released October 15th. Violet Midnight. So, I’m spending time promoting that. But TAINTED, book three of my Wasteland Trilogy releases early 2013 so I’m super excited about that, too! :)

Me: Who is your favorite character from Greek Mythology OR which Olympian would you want to be? And why?

L.R: Before I read your book, I didn’t really every think about Mythology much. Really. Don’t know much about it, either, but I always thought Athena was awesome. Wasn’t she the goddess of wisdom and courage? That’s way cool! Admirable. :)

Driven to write, Lynn Rush often sees her characters by closing her eyes watching their story unfold in her mind. Lynn Rush is a pen name that is a combination of two sources – Lynn, the first name of her mother-in-law, who passed away and Rush – since the author is a former inline speed skater and mountain biker. All of Rush’s books are dedicated to Lynn, her namesake, and a portion of the proceeds benefits cancer research and awareness.

Rush holds a degree in psychology from Southwest Minnesota State University and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa. Originally from Minneapolis, Rush currently enjoys living in the Arizona sunshine by road biking nearly 100 miles per week with her husband of 16 years and jogging with her two lovable Shetland Sheep dogs.

Book Blurb for Wasteland:

Salvation comes with a price…

Bound by the blood contract his human mother signed four centuries ago, half-demon, David Sadler, must obey his demonic Master’s order to capture fifteen-year-old Jessica Hanks. But as he learns more about her, he realizes she may be the key to freedom from his demonic enslavement.

The only obstacle—Jessica’s distractingly beautiful Guardian, Rebeka Abbott. He must not give in to their steamy chemistry, or he will lose his humanity. But fresh off a quarter millennia of sensory deprivation as punishment for not retrieving his last target, he may not be able to resist temptation long enough to save what’s left of his human soul.

“A pulse-pounding adrenaline surge brimming with poetic pyrotechnics, Rush’s story caresses your heart. Wasteland is a game-changer in the ho-hum angel/demon world. Beautifully written prose, strong characters and a compelling plot will keep readers hooked until the last page.”  –Romantic Times

Tuesday Talent – RENEE REARDEN

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

Nothing like a long holiday weekend to help you recharge for the week. To help you start the week off, I’m going to introduce you to one of my fellow Crescent Moon Press authors. She’s sweet and funny and super supportive. And her books are totally kick-butt! Who is this lovely lady you ask? Why Renee Rearden, that’s who…  Let’s dive right into the interview, shall we?

ME:  What was the first book you read that grabbed you? What genre? Who is the author?

R.R: The first book I read that grabbed me…huh. Any speculation? I’ll give you a hint. The genre is horror, thriller, suspense (I know, I know. I can’t just pick one!) Never mind. You’ll never guess, so I’ll spill. Jaws by Peter Benchley. In the fourth grade, I snuck my mom’s copy and read it after she went to bed. I’ve never gotten over my fear of the ocean—well, of what’s in it. But that book, wow. It spoke to me. The story and the characters enthralled me. The dread and suspense encouraged me to test the boundaries my fears—both imaginary and real.

Me: Is there an author that you get fan-girl crazy over? Have you ever met him/her? Do you want to?

R.R: Do I have to pick just one? ‘Cause there’s a list actually. Rachel Caine, Rachel Vincent, Gena Showalter, Richelle Mead, Jennifer Estep, Carolyn Crane, Patricia Briggs, J.R. Ward, Laurel K. Hamilton—warned you there was a list! I received an email from Ms Hamilton, encouraging my desire to write. I met Ms Mead and Ms Briggs. Both are delightful women, supportive and friendly…sorry. Fan-girl gushing!

3. What’s your:

  • Favorite color? Right now, blue—both my grandsons’ eye color.
  • Favorite season? Fall.
  • Favorite Hero – movie or book? Book – Jamie Fraser.
  • Snack weakness (food or drink)? Chips or brownies…it’s a tie.
  • What’s your Astrological sign?  Gemini—sign of the twin (personalities)
  • Do you write sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories, of course—once my characters get to know each other, that is!
  • Do you read sweet and cuddly or toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories? Toe-curling steamy lovin’ stories.

Me: What’s on your desk when you write?

R.R: Candles, sticky notes covered in goal reminders, and an unabridged dictionary and thesaurus. Yep, I roll old school!

Me:Do you write to music or quiet? If you do write with music, can you share one song that’s significantly impacted this story?

R.R: Music distracts me. So, I write in silence. Scents are my accompaniment. Different scents inspire or complement each scene I write—some of them even work their way into my books.

Me: What’s your favorite line from your most recent release? Why?

R.R: Lust served its purpose when necessary, but the flames of hunger burned out quickly, sometimes leaving the heart a charred remain in its wake. Love, now that was something else entirely. This line’s my favorite because I’m really a romantic at heart. Lust burns bright but love, when true, burns forever. Did I mention my 25th wedding anniversary is this year?  =D

Me: What’s next? You don’t have to give specifics – but feel free to leave a tantalizing snippet or cryptic hook.

R.R: Saari, Dhelis and Brogan still have some issues to resolve. Resilient spirit brings long-held secrets to light, rivals are chomping toward a political power play, and heightened senses under the moonlight take complicated family matters to a whole new level.

Cryptic enough?

Me: Who is your favorite character from Greek Mythology OR which Olympian would you want to be? And why?

R.R: I actually like Hephaestus. He’s noted to be crippled or misshapen. After being rejected by his mother, he devised a way to get what he wanted: revenge and a beautiful goddess for a wife. Hephaestus received another blow when his wife chose allowed another man in her bed. Once again, he outsmarts his wife and her lover. Why do I like Hephaestus?  He’s the underdog. He’s a smart, tortured man that works every angle to his advantage. More importantly, he doesn’t get mad—he gets even.  That makes for amazing conflict in any legend, myth or story!

Crimson Sunrise blurb: Saari Mitchell attends a Tueri conference in Las Vegas, Nevada to strengthen her bonds with Dhelis Guidry and Brogan Vincent—and see if they can make their three-sided relationship work. But when Saari and her vampire brother Mag’s lives are threatened, her trip to paradise soon becomes a surreal fight for survival. Dhelis and Brogan’s psychic abilities are no help in finding Saari. Desperate to save their mate, they call in favors from the psychic and preternatural community, but the information leads only to more questions. Is the threat against Saari personal or part of a larger plan that threatens every human and Tueri’s existence? Crimson Sunrise is the second novel in the Tueri Fated Souls Series.

Moonlight Bleu blurb: Saari Mitchell sees a psychologist in order to understand why-500 years later-she’s still dreaming of her dead lover. Her shrink isn’t helping, the nightmares come every time she closes her eyes, and the lack of sleep is interfering with her job at Sacred Heart Hospital. With her psychic ability to heal the human spirit on the fritz, her auric radar becomes as reliable as her spotty cell phone service.

By day, Dhelis Guidry works as a detective for the new Angeles Police Department investigating the missing or murdered women in the Full-Moon Killer case. In his spare time he hunts rogue vampires as a Tueri executioner.

Brogan Vincent is a Tueri healer. Though he could offer his miraculous talents to the rich and powerful, he has chosen anonymity and peace by only using his psychic abilities among the Tueri.

One look into Saari’s tri-colored eyes and both men realize she is Tueri. One touch tells them each she’s their soul mate. But can either of them protect her from the Full-Moon Killer?

See, don’t they sound like awesome books? I KNOW!

Thanks so much for dropping by Renee!!!

Today is Medusa, A Love Story’s Official Release day – aka: Book Birthday!

This is MY first Book Birthday, too!

Which is… well, words cannot describe the way it feels.

I’m sharing a few review snippets…

Astrid (Amazon review) said: ”I have been waiting for weeks for this book to come out and I was not disappointed. A tragic love story of great depth and heartbreak. How Ariston pours his heart out to Hades brought tears to my eyes. Perfect for anyone who loves mythology and reading of the power of love.”

I sincerely hope you enjoy my first novel. I loved writing it and, all nerves aside, I’m proud to share it with you!

If you find yourself enjoying my take on Ancient Greece and the Olympians, Hades is up next… He’s a pretty dreamy anti-hero. I’ll let you know when his birthday is on the horizon!

***I’d also like to ask a favor from you readers.***

A book needs reviews, so do authors. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and Shelfari are all wonderful places to post a review. Your reviews help spread the word about books, builds interest, and impacts an authors reputation. Think about it and, if you’re up for it, write and share a review on one, or all, of these sites. Not just for Medusa (that would be awesome) but for other books you’ve loved or want to recommend.

Thank You!
